Statements

I have written the following statements as part of my portfolio:

• A research statement, covering my research focus, interests, agenda, and goals, including the overarching research questions that drive it. This research statement also discussing the benefits of my research and my research experience.
• A teaching philosophy statement, covering my philosophy and thoughts on effective learning, effective teaching, how I implement strategies to ensure such effectiveness, and the overall goals of my teaching;
• A service statement, discussing my past, present, and future service to my current institution (Florida State University), the community, and the LIS profession and field;
• A self-assessment statement, assessing my activities during the past year and how they have been supportive of my progress in the FSU School of Library and Information Studies doctoral program and my career objectives; and
• A perceived needs statement, discussing what I see as necessary courses and activities that I need to take part in over the next year in order to progress through the doctoral program and achieve my career objectives.
