LIS 6919 Critiquing and Improving Research

Summer 2010, taught by Dr. Corinne Jörgensen

This course provided an overview and introduction to critiquing, peer reviewing, and improving research papers submitted (or to be submitted) for publication in journals, conferences, and the like, as well as other forms of submissions we might see (e.g. panel proposals for conferences). We discussed the peer review process in depth with both the main instructor and guest speakers, read a number of articles about the process, and completed a large number of practical, hands-on assignments intended to help us learn how to peer review.

My assignments for this course were in the form of discussion board posts. Because most of these consisted of peer reviews of articles that may or may not have been published yet, access is provided only to members of my committee. I can provide printed copies of at least some of these assignments to other authorized FSU faculty and staff upon request, however.
